Celebrating Pune: Swiggy, Fleetguard, Suzlon Group, Torrent Power, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH)

On-demand convenience platform Swiggy partnered with Pune Traffic Police to conduct a Road Safety Awareness Session for delivery partners in Pune, under the ambit of its road safety charter Delivering Safely. The programme was conducted to educate and empower 130 delivery partners in the city. The session was designed to encourage safer, proactive driving habits, reinforce the importance of adhering to traffic regulation and reducing risky behaviours through better time and route planning. It was led by the Pune Traffic Police officials including Amol Zende, DCP, Pune; Sunil Gawali, Senior PI; Hanif Shaikh, RSP Traffic and Devidas Patil, RSP Traffic, who provided invaluable training and guidance to the delivery partners. “India has witnessed an increase in the number of road accidents and fatalities over the last 2 years. India has the highest number of road accidents fatalities globally. Under the charter of Delivering Safely, Swiggy is committed to the welfare and safety of its delivery partners and partners with police authorities to conduct various road safety awareness programs across the country. The objective is to enhance traffic road safety and ensure that delivery partners follow traffic rules at all times. We are thankful to the support extended by the Pune Traffic Police and hope to improve traffic sensitization and enhance safety of delivery partners who are one of the key pillars of our business,” said Shalabh Shrivastava, Senior Vice President, Drivers Organization, Swiggy.
‘Prabhaar,’ a Film supported by Fleetguard Filters (FFPL) under its CSR initiative to highlight the importance of girl child education, was launched at NFAI, Pune by personalities including Niranjan Kirloskar – Managing Director (FFPL), Sanjay Kulkarni – President (FFPL), Rahul Panshikar (Film Director) and others including Heena Mistry, Saloni Kumari, Rajendra Bhide, Vibhishan Munde and Navnath Shinde.
The film is a poignant narrative promoting girl child education and is inspired by the true story of Heena Mistry. ‘Prabhaar’ sheds light on the deeply ingrained patriarchal attitudes that hinder the educational aspirations of young girls in certain communities. The film revolves around the journey of Neena, a determined young girl who defies societal norms and overcomes significant hardships in her quest for education and self-reliance. Through its emotionally charged storytelling, ‘Prabhaar’ captures the resilience and indomitable spirit of Neena as she navigates the challenges posed by her environment. Suzlon Group and Torrent Power Ltd. have achieved a remarkable milestone together, now powering 1 GW of wind energy for India with a new 486 MW hybrid order. This strategic collaboration is pivotal in supporting India’s ambitious target of achieving 50% of electricity from renewable sources and strengthening the Make in India initiative. Under the agreement, Suzlon will supply 162 state-of-the-art S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with Hybrid Lattice (HLT) Towers, each rated at 3 MW capacity in the Bhogat region in Gujarat. Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), recently unveiled a state-of-the-art digital classroom at Zilla Parishad Primary School (ZPPS), Nirgudsar, Ambegaon, Pune. The initiative was inaugurated by Amol Ramsing Kolhe, Member of Parliament, Shirur.
The initiative is part of HCCB’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, which is focused on enhancing the educational experience for students in Maharashtra. The newly installed smart boards aim to foster an interactive, engaging, and dynamic learning environment by integrating technology into the classroom. The digital smart boards will be an essential tool in modernising the classroom experience, enabling teachers to offer more interactive lessons and enhancing students’ ability to grasp complex concepts through visual and digital aids. HCCB is also initiating a digital smartboard installation at Ane village in Junnar block, Pune district. A digital smartboard and RO filter are also being installed at Jambhori village, Ambegaon block, Pune district. Additionally, an RO filter installation is planned at Gunjalwadi village, Junnar block, Pune district. The main objective of this initiative is to grant students access to purified drinking water and adequate hygiene facilities. This is expected to improve the school’s infrastructure and foster a healthier environment for the students.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis unveiled Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) platform in Marathi language on the occasion of Vishwa Marathi Sammelan 2025 at Fergusson College in Pune on Friday. The Marathi version of SIDH which will enable professionals, students, and researchers to engage more effectively with valuable content, ensuring wider knowledge dissemination across Maharashtra. This initiative fosters linguistic inclusivity and empowers citizens with essential information in their mother tongue, as envisioned in NEP 2020. The platform will assist youth in skilling themselves in over 7000 skill courses that includes Industry 4.0 courses, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Drone technology to name a few.
