Atal Incubation Centre (AIC)-Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini Foundation (www.aic-rmp.org) have partnered with Global Parli to launch ‘AGRIgate’- Accelerator Programme for Agri innovators and farmers.
The initiative bridges the gap between farmers, agri startups, and technology to speed up rural development and increase farm productivity along with farmer’s income by utilizing cutting-edge technology and process innovations.
AGRIgate will bring together farmers, who are unexposed to technology, and Startups, who are unaware of ground realities.
The e-inauguration Programme was held on 2 July 2021 which was graced by Dr. Rajiv Kumar- Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog as the Chief Guest. He was joined by Dr. Chintan Vaishnav- Mission Director, Atal Innovation Mission as the Guest of Honor & Mayank Gandhi (Founder, Global Parli) who delivered the keynote.
Dr. Rajiv Kumar reiterated PM Modi’s words that the distance between Science and Zameen(Mother Earth) should be as narrow as possible and this partnership speaks for itself. He highlighted that AGRIgate will reduce the layers of intermediary between farmers and consumers and result in a larger share of value addition in farmer’s hands and benefit customers also. It’s a big opportunity for start-ups in the warehousing, cold storage, and agro-processing space. My urge to startup is to bring scientific innovation in horticulture and its products and create a brand. In concluding remarks, he stated “Reduction in input costs and aiming at chemical-free horticulture practices are the two
thoughts I would like to leave the team with.’
Dr. Chintan Vaishnav, Mission Director, Atal Innovation Mission quotes “The alliance is truly progressive from various angles. The successful model by Global Parli is rooted in the harshest of environments, therefore scaling up would be comparatively easier, once established.” He shared that Entrepreneurs many a time “imagine” a problem and it is through programs like AGRIgate that they would be able to get a better understanding of reality on ground issues.
