The world is at a critical juncture where saving the environment is the need of the hour. There are many simple ways in which one can conserve the environment and it is a must for everyone to know about these ways – proper waste management is one of them.
British Council Library in Pune will host a talk titled ‘Watts Up Pune: Pune & Its Impact on Environment’ – aimed at creating awareness about proper waste management to keep the city clean and green. The talk, helmed byKrishnan Kanandur, CEO, Adar Poonawala Clean City Initiative, is a must for anyone who is interested to know various ways in which you can save the earth.
The talk aims to sustain the spirit of protecting the environment as a continuation of the recently concluded World Environment Day. With its legacy of being a learning space for over 70 years, the British Council library allows people from different walks of life to come together.The talk is another step in that direction as it allows Punekars to come together to learn, explore and indulge in thought-provoking discussions.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Krishnan Kanandur, CEO of Adar Poonawala Clean City Initiative is a waste management professional with over two decades of experience. His past work experience has given him opportunity to understand and respond to government policies to mitigate the problem of waste disposal by various technologies. He is actively involved in running the clean city initiative since 2016 in Pune. The clean city initiative is one of its kinds in India wherein a private enterprise has taken the responsibility in working together with the civic bodies. The initiative covers the city with mapping of roads, deployment of men and machines, cleaning of chronic spots and collaborating with various NGO’s to spread awareness.
