The British Council Library, a learning and cultural hub for Punekars for almost six decades,is celebrating its 60thyear in the city with a 2-month long programme for its members and non-members.Starting with Family Carnival on July 20 – 21, anexciting series of experiential learning events for parents and children are being organized across literature, theatre, reading, films,and dance in the coming two months.
The Family Carnival will host an array of workshops and activities for children between the age group of 6-14 years. To familiarize aspiring young storytellers with different storytelling techniques and platforms, the British Council is organizing an interactive storytelling workshop by Shakina Mohol. For drama, dance and film enthusiasts, there are interesting games and activities aligned as well by learned and experienced professionals. The series of experiential learning events will be continued post the Family Carnival too.
The British Council Library in Pune is a knowledge centre for the last 60 years and has evolved into a cultural hub, allowing audiences to access not just learning resources but an environment that nurtures learning and growth. The library aims to stay true to its promise of creating an unconventional space which is safe andchild friendly. The library in Puneis a modern space which is more vibrant andwelcoming not just for children but for likeminded people who can come together to learn, explore and have thought-provoking discussions.
