Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.) have announced an investment of Rs. 10,000 Crore for an electric vehicles plant in Pune, Maharashtra. The proposal to set up the plant has been approved under the Maharashtra Government’s industrial promotion scheme for Electric Vehicles. The company, through its subsidiary, will make the investment over a period of 7-8 years for setting up the manufacturing facility, development, and production of Mahindra’s upcoming Born Electric Vehicles (BEVs), some of which were showcased in Oxfordshire, UK, on August 15th, 2022. Based on the state-of-the-art INGLO EV Platform, these include the e-SUVs under the iconic brand – XUV with the Twin Peak logo in copper and the all-new electric-only brand called ‘BE’.

To provide acceleration to semi-urban and rural fintech start-ups, LenDenClub Alpha has commenced its initiative of the ‘Bharat fintech program’ starting in Pune. LenDenClub Alpha, a corporate venture capital (CVC) of LenDenClub, started this remarkable program in Mumbai last month. Currently, the program runs in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Rajasthan. Murty Trust, the family foundation of Mrs. Sudha Murty and Mr. Narayana Murthy, announced a grant of INR 75 million to the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute (BORI) to preserve and promote research on rare books and manuscripts in Sanskrit and Prakrit. The grant covers the construction of the Murty Centre of Indic Studies, an 18,000 sqft heritage-style, academic and research building with a 200-seater classroom capacity, a state-of-the art auditorium to conduct lectures, and an audio-visual studio to digitise ancient books and manuscripts. The Bhoomi Pooja for the building was conducted with Mrs. Sudha Murty laying the foundation stone of the building.
YouTube influencer and Vocational Speaker, CA Rachana Ranade was presented with a Vocational Excellence Award by Rotary Club of Nigdi. Ranade trains her audience on various financial aspects from stock market to insurance to cryptocurrency through her YouTube channel called’ ‘CA Rachana Phadke Ranade’, which has garnered more than 4 million subscribers.In her acceptance speech, she narrated her journey from a Chartered Accountant to a teacher to a YouTuber. “Only 24% Indians are financially literate to some extent. I have noted that even highly placed officers of renowned corporates are ignorant about some basic concepts. There was a need for someone to explain the complex financial jargon in simpler terms.
