Speaking at a Press Conference at Patrakar Bhavan Pune,  Dr. Ghanshyam Marda Secretary and  Dr Sukumar Sirdeshmukh Jt Secretary Organizing Committee said that the international summit will showcase rich heritage of traditional medicine and other indigenous systems and will provide a comprehensive platform for all AYUSH stakeholders to showcase the efficacy of these health systems and their cost effectiveness. More than 300 brands will display their products. Exhibitors would include Institutes  , Colleges ,Hospitals , Pharmaceutical companies , Agro and Food processing companies , herbal medicine and organic product manufacturers amongst others.
They added that while alternative medicine systems  are gaining momentum in many parts of the globe, very few countries recognize them as legal  health systems . On one hand there is a need for professional training, more research and documentation of these systems and on the other hands there is a need for multi pronged collaborations and mass awareness so that there is wider acceptance which will ultimately benefit common people across the globe. It is time India took the lead to propagate the benefits of AYUSH systems and this expo is a definitive step in that direction. Dr. Manoj choudhary, Dr. Nikhil Pendse and Dr. Harish Patankar were also present
