This weekend, it will be a double treat for Punekars as they will get a chance to listen and enjoy songs of legendary singer, late Arun Date and also experience the recitation of poems of 7 distinguished Marathi poets. The program called ‘Nava Shukratara’, is being organized by the Orange Diabetes Foundation and Dr. Shailaja Kale on Saturday, 5 October 2019 at Tilak Smarak Mandir, Tilak road, Pune at 5:30 pm. The program is free and open for all and on first come first serve basis.
The program will be presented by poet Smita Late who will narrate poems of 7 famous Marathi poets including Vasant Bapat, Grace, Shankar Vaidya, Kusumagraj, Shanta Shelke, Mangesh Padgaonkar and Sudhir Moghe to charm the audience.
This is in addition to the popular songs of Arun Date which would be performed by acclaimed singers Mandar Apte and Shruti Joshi. The two singers, Mandar Apte and Shruti Joshi will present Arun Date’s songs including ‘Ya Janmavarya, Ya Jaganyavar’, ‘Sriram Jairam Jai Jai Ram,’ ‘Swar Gangecha Katha Varti,’ and ‘Bhatuklichya Khedamadhli’ among others. They will be accompanied by Prasanna Bam on harmonium, Amit Kunte on tabla, Kedar Paranjape on keyboards, Ruturaj Kore as arhythmist and Prashant Kamble as sound manager. An audio-visual clip of Arun Date will also be played for the audience.
