Punekars will receive expert guidance in a workshop on ‘Vilasini Natyam, and ‘Neo Bharatnatyam’. The workshop is a part of Sindhu Dance Festival – a distinguished 3-day festival organized with the special efforts of Poonam Gokhale, Director, Mudra Centre of Performing Arts’ and ‘Sankhya Dance Creation’. The workshop is organized on Sunday, March 3 at 9:30 am at Sudarshan Rangmanch, Shaniwar Peth, Pune.The two lectures are free and open for all on first come first serve basis.
In the workshop lecture demonstration will be conducted by Purva Dhanashree on ‘Vilasini Natyam’ which is a rare style of dancing that is originated in Andhra Pradesh. The repertoire comprises of temple dance, court dance and dance operas of female singer-dancers of Telugu origin. In the second lecture Anita Ratnam will speak about the modern sensibilities in classical dance.
