Sahyadri Hospitals Introduces ‘Relax Mommy’ pregnancy programme

The growth of a family is precious, the most joyous time for would-be parents. However, all the physical, hormonal, and emotional changes can be intense coupled with the advice of innumerable people around you. Introducing expert care at your doorstep for a safe and healthy pregnancy, Sahyadri Hospital announces the launch of ‘Relax Mommy’, a home care model for would-be mothers. The city’s first such model will conduct additional home visits, apart from routine hospital check-ups in a bid to reduce overall morbidity and mortality during pregnancy. The event saw the presence of noted celebrity and actress Sonali Kulkarni.Dr. Supriya Puranik, Director – IVF Services and Obstetrics & Gynecology, Sahyadri Hospital , Group COO Sahyadri Hospitals Dr Sunil Rao , Dr Shantanu Pathak Co-founder CareNX innovations and IIT Mumbai Alumni  were present on the occasion .

Dr Supriya Puranik conducted a free wheeling interview of Sonali Kulkarni for sharing her professional and personal experiences during her pregnancy .

Under the Relax Mommy programme, a registered patient who visits Sahyadri Hospital will be provided with the option of 4-5 home visits within the comfort of their homes. A qualified expert nurse will visit the home of the patient with a point-of-care pregnancy solution. The expectant mother, on the other hand, will be provided with a personalised app developed in collaboration with CareNX Innovations, a start-up affiliated with IIT Bombay. A portable diagnostic kit with this app will conduct a ‘doorstep’ screening tests, identify complications early in the pregnancy and manage high-risk pregnancies with real-time transfer of test results to doctors for immediate decision-making.. .

Dr. Supriya Puranik, Director – IVF Services and Obstetrics & Gynecology, Sahyadri Hospital said, “The Relax Mommy programme is a unique opportunity for us as healthcare providers to deliver care, support and information to pregnant women who often find it challenging to spend long hours at a hospital waiting for their routine check ups. Not only will this foster quality time during doctor-patient interactions, but it will also help us focus on high-risk management and overall wellness. We aim to provide specialised in-home, family-centred care keeping both the parents involved in every decision.

“Ranging from ANC check-ups, home-based counseling for stress management, foetal wellness, hygiene and diet advice, assistance for a safe delivery to even education on postpartum care — we seek to cover these focal points. Expert intervention will also be provided for high-risk pregnancies including gestational diabetes, high blood pressure, multiple gestation and even specialised IVF cases. Remember, we are here to help and support mothers throughout this transition period in order to make it as enjoyable and memorable as possible,” she concluded.

Narrating her own experience Sonali kulkarni said that my  family and my husband partnered with me in a true sense during my pregnancy . Also the people around me , staff and my friends contributed by sharing their experiences and supporting me . A would be mom should always have the confidence and a feeling  that somebody is there to listen to you during this time which makes the experience happy , enjoyable and memorable .
