SpiceJet launches 10 non-stop flights connecting Madhya Pradesh to different parts of the country

SpiceJet has announced the launch of ten new non-stop flights connecting Madhya Pradesh, the heart of India, to different parts of the country. SpiceJet will be the first and only airline to operate non-stop flights on the routes of Gwalior-Pune-Gwalior, Gwalior-Ahmedabad-Gwalior, Gwalior-Mumbai-Gwalior and Jabalpur-Surat-Jabalpur. The airline is also starting its second frequency on the Delhi-Jabalpur-Delhi sector, a press release said.

Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia flagged off the inaugural SpiceJet flight from Gwalior to Pune virtually in the presence of Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, and Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, SpiceJet.

Singh said, “As air travel picks up, it’s time to rededicate and work with renewed enthusiasm towards realising our Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of connecting the smaller towns of our beautiful country by air. SpiceJet has been the biggest and most enthusiastic supporter of UDAN and our new flights connecting Gwalior and Jabalpur to key metros is yet another testament of our commitment of connecting the unconnected and underserved parts of the country. I am sure that these new flights will provide a major boost to tourism and trade and contribute to the growth story of Madhya Pradesh, the heart of India.”

SpiceJet operates 63 daily flights under UDAN connecting 14 UDAN destinations to various parts of the country. SpiceJet was the first and only big private airline to participate in UDAN-I.

The airline already connects Gwalior with Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jammu and Kolkata under UDAN. From Gwalior, SpiceJet will also offer convenient connections to Goa, Guwahati, Kochi, Kandla, Belagavi, Gorakhpur, Patna, Mangalore and Chennai through one-stop flights.

SpiceJet will be the first and only airline to offer direct flights on the Jabalpur-Surat-Jabalpur sector and has launched a second frequency on the Delhi-Jabalpur-Delhi sector. SpiceJet already connects Jabalpur with Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune and Mumbai.
