Home-grown artisanal brand Suta opens a new store in the vibrant Kothrud neighbourhood
The New Year is a time for new beginnings. And what better way to begin 2024 than with a new store? That’s the mantra for home-grown artisanal brand Suta, which is set to raise the curtains on the brand’s ninth physical store. Their location of choice is the buzzing Kothrud neighbourhood in West Pune, an area known for its historic Peshwa roots, for being the erstwhile residence of Mastani and, more recently, for its hip upscale vibe.
“We’ve always looked forward to visiting Pune, with our Suta Bazaar exhibitions – the outpouring of love we receive each time is just overwhelming. Pune was always on our list of places to set up a physical store – the question was determining the right space. And the right space has finally presented itself in the form of this gorgeous 1,000 sq. ft. store,” says Sujata Biswas, co-founder of Suta.
True to the brand’s ethos, this store too will reflect a mix of local influences and Suta’s signature earthy aesthetic. “We’ve used soothing stone-finish floors, traditional lamps and wooden accents to add a warm, inviting vibe to the store’s interiors. As an ode to this beautiful city, we’ve also added wada-inspired arches to the store front. Our goal is to always incorporate as many local elements as we can, with immaculate attention to detail. After all, this store is a sanctuary for all our Suta Queens – a space they can luxuriate in, shop for hours and feel completely at home,” adds Taniya Biswas, co-founder of Suta.
The Pune store will house the brand’s bestselling collections, as well as its more recent luxurious launches that are perfect for the ongoing wedding season. “We’re so excited to open our doors to Pune in time for the Makar Sankranti festivities. We’re planning several store-specific events, including workshops, meet-and-greets, parties and much more, to foster the wonderful Suta community in Pune. Of course, regular shoppers can also expect special discounts, exclusive products and other special surprises!” the co-founders added.
Suta has also recently launched new stores in Hyderabad, Chennai, Bhubaneshwar and a Delhi pop-up store in 2023. The Pune store opens its doors to customers on January 13, 11 am onwards.
