Honeywell and Agastya expand Honeywell Science Exeperience Programme in National Capital Region

To commemorate National Science Day, Agastya International Foundation (Agastya) and Honeywell India today announced the expansion of the Honeywell Science Experience – an experiential science education program for middle and high school students and teachers of government schools in Noida and Faridabad.

Since the program’s launch in 2016, Honeywell Hometown Solutions India Foundation (HHSIF), the Company’s not-for-profit entity, has supported 25 science centers, 35 mobile science labs, and 3,000 student mentors, benefiting more than 135,000 students and 783 teachers in Delhi, Gurugram, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Madurai, Mysore, and now Noida and Faridabad.

The program’s uniquely scalable, hands-on teaching/learning method fosters child and teacher participation, encourages curiosity, and boosts experiential science education.

During the program’s expansion event at Rajkiya Balika Inter College, students learned and later explained complex scientific concepts such as reflection and refraction, eclipse, and inertia of motion, through simple experiments.

“Cultivating curiosity for science through innovative, fun, and experiential ways is what we undertook as a cause at Agastya. It was incredible to see the students explaining scientific concepts with clarity and confidence,” said Sai Chandrasekhar, Chief of Operations, Agastya. “Agastya is pleased to partner with Honeywell to make learning accessible to the bright young children from underprivileged communities.”

“Being one of the world’s leading technology companies and a top recruiter of technology talent in India, we understand the importance of science, technology, engineering, and math education and its impact on the global economy,” said Mike Banach, General Manager, Honeywell UOP India. “It is gratifying to see the transformation that the Honeywell Science Experience has enabled among students in previous schools. We are glad to bring this program to students in Noida and Faridabad.”
