Renowned artists from Indian classical music to help classical artists from flood hit areas

Floods occurred in many areas of the state have caused severe impact on the day to day lives there. Just like the spoilage caused to homes, many local music artists faced damages to their precious musical instruments. Now, few renowned artists from the world of Indian classical music and dance have come forward to perform their best to collect funds specially to help artists related to Indian classical music from flood hit Sangli and Kolhapur region.

Ramdas Palsule

Avartan Gurukul, Parijat Academy- Pune and Heritage Events have organized a special musical event titled as ‘Sur Sparsha- Ek Janeev’ on September 15, 2019 at the Shakuntala Shetty Auditorium of Karnatak High School at 6 pm, informed  Santosh Potdar of Heritage events.

The funds collected through this event will be used to repair the damaged musical instruments of the artists from the flood hit region as mentioned above. Where the damage is irreparable, the instruments will be completely replaced with the new instruments so that the livelihood of these artists will continue as it was before.

Milind Tulankar

World famous percussionists including Taufiq Qureshi (Djembe), Pt. Ramdas Palsule (Tabla) and acclaimed Jal Tarang player Pt. Milind Tulankar will present a Jugalbandi during this event. While the disciples of veteran Kathak Guru Shama Bhate will also perform some outstanding Kathak compositions.

The donation passes for this event will be available at Balgandharv Rangamandir on Jangli Maharaj Road, Yashvantrao Chavan Natyagruha, Kothrud and Navadikar Musicals, Kothrud.
