Veteran Vocalist Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar will be felicitated with a special ‘Swarasagar Sanskrutik Mahotsav Award’ for his contribution in Indian classical music. The award ceremony will be conducted on Thursday, February 28 as a part of the inauguration of Swarasagar Cultural Festival organized by Pimpri-Chinchwad Social Trust.Pt. Kashalkar will be felicitated with the award consisting of Rs. 51 thousand cash along with the citation.
In the same programme, Tabla Player Mandar Prabhune will be conferred upon with ‘Pt. Padmakar Kulkarni Smruti Gaurav Puraskar’. This award consists of Rs. 11 thousand cash and citation. The information is given by Anil Galinde, President, Pimpri-Chinchwad Social Trust.
The Swarasagar Cultural Festival organized by Pimpri Chinchwad Social Trust and conceptualised by National Award-winning Singer Mahesh Kale is going to take place on the ground near City Pride School situated in ‘Sector 27- A’ in Nigdi-Pradhikaran in between February 28 and March 2. The timing of the festival is 6.30pm to 10pm on all the three days. The festival is free and open for all.
The festival aims to expose the citizen of Pimpri-Chinchwad to good quality content and present them glimpse of different music styles.The programme has got the guidance of Shravan Hardikar, Collector, PCMC and Rahul Jadhav, Mayor of Pimpri-Chinchwad, while Pravin Tupe, Jt. City Engineer, PCMC is the cultural advisor for the festival.
