ZF Group opens 19th plant in Coimbatore

The plant will help in localizing axles and transmissions for the construction and railways industry

Global automotives supplier ZF Group has inaugurated its manufacturing plant in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, catering to construction and railways segment. This is the company’s 19th plant in India.Spread over an area of 10,000 sq meters, the new manufacturing facility displays ZF’s state-of-the-art production technology.

The new plant aligns with ZF’s objective of ‘Make in India for India and the World’ approach, highlighting the company’s thrust towards local manufacturing excellence while simultaneously catering to global demands.

This facility will play a critical role in pioneering innovative solutions for construction equipment segment and railways in India for domestic markets and also grow exports as a hub for manufacturing for ZF Group’s global customers.To meet the growth in India’s robust construction equipment segment and to address the demands for superior innovative solutions by its customers, ZF Group has invested 20 million Euro (Rs 192 crore ) to strengthen its unwavering commitment to localize world class technologies, products and solutions to India’s growing mobility sector.

The Off-Highway plant will support ZF’s growth in India, supplying world class technology to domestic and global OEMs. To support the growing construction segment and OEM demand, the ERGOPOWER M transmission. is industrialized in this site. This automatic-powershift transmission has been optimized for all kind of construction machinery applications and is considered a benchmark in the market for its performance and quality. With a variety of features as well as an optional efficiency package, the transmission can increase productivity and fuel savings of up to 15%.
